Returning to practice working therapeutically with children has had many challenges to work ethically with our clients whilst we juggle our own personal experiences of the pandemic. This keynote will explore how we have and can develop resilience, in response to working and holding trauma.

Developing sustainable and achievable Master Plan of Family Resilience and Parental Involvement – Bridginng the connectionsthat focus on individual’s strength (under stress and challenges), tailored-made approaches and the wellbeing and growth of the family, and the Children’s Quality of Life. Using water and expressive art.
Objectives:
1. Knowing Walsh 3 Domains that build Family Resilience.
2. Using Metaphors and Expressive Art to work creatively in understanding the Master Plan for Children’s Quality of Life. Using 4 case Studies, 4 parents of different personality in SMILE(S), 4 clients of different characteristic.
3. Hitting the Bullseye – Rebalancing and refocusing, Empowering family towards shared hope, building competencies and Quality of Life, and Bond strengthening.
Outline:
The advice and recommendations offered to parents after Therapy sessions, help reinforcement of client’s strengths and insights of self, and involvement of parents that build equilibrium in the parent-child dyad and family resilience. How have you, as Therapist, helped a family in their journey of healing and discovery? Using Water Play Therapy Creative and Expressive Approach, based on Walsh Family Resilience Framework, you could relook, rebalance and refocus your thoughts and understanding of your client and the family. Build your skills and strategies to support and empower them, which encourage self-aware and confident parents, and secured child with desired Quality of Life.

Eileen has worked with children and families for over 28 years. Her interest in child development, attachment theory supported her work with children and families who witnessed and experienced trauma. Eileen began Play Therapy Training in 2002. During her training she was a manager and Clinical Lead at a Children’s Centre responsible for the development of attachment-based services and Play Therapy, which were delivered within the community by her team. Eileen’s Play Therapy specialism was working mostly with children who had experienced complex trauma. As her career developed Eileen broadened her skills base by studying Systemic Family and Organisational Therapy, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Parenting Trainer, Clinical Supervisor, Creative Arts Counsellor for Children and Young People.
Marina is the founder of Creative Play Therapy/Creative Play Lab Pte Ltd in Singapore where she empowers children and teenagers through Play Therapy, by assisting them to face their problems by reflecting on their thoughts, feelings and behaviour. Marina is a mainstream educator for almost 30 years. She has also coached and guided teachers and parents, in developing children. She is effectively bilingual. As a Play Therapist, Filial Play Coach, and Supervisor she relates to individuals and families in an unorthodox and creative way. As the coordinator of Play Therapy Singapore (PTSG), she hopes to share with others, the Magical Power of Creative Art and Play Therapy. She is also a Part-time Lecturer at National Institute of Education, lecturing Play Therapy Module.
Alun has had a variety of experiences over the last 45 years that has led to this point. From Gas fitter/plumber, to church pastor, to actor and writer, to teacher, to children’s worker for a charity, to play therapist, to clinical director of Catchpoint, to course director and clinical team. He is especially interested in how trauma affects not only children but the parents, carers, family and professional’s who support them.
